Zachary Boyce

Legal Assistant

I am currently a dual J.D./Master of Science in Information Sciences candidate at UNC Chapel Hill. Diversity is a bit existential for me since I come from a multi-ethnic family and community. I grew up outside of Fort Bragg, NC, and my parents are army veterans. As a first-generation college student, I studied Psychology and Neuroscience with a concentration in Trauma & Resilience. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, I lived in Ecuador for about a year. In Ecuador, I worked with the United States Peace Corps as a Youth & Family Development Volunteer. Insights gained from studying the neurophysiology of behavior compounded by my lived experiences spent immersed amongst Venezuelan refugees of the South American Black diaspora inform my perspective on the legal system and motivate me to wield the Juris Doctor as a tool to advocate for historically excluded communities like mine. I am a Varsity cheerleader here at UNC, as well as a Senator of the School of Law constituency in UNC’s Graduate and Professional Student Government. I enjoy playing the classical cello and violin, spending time outdoors with my partner and poodles, and cooking delicious meals to share with family and friends.
